What are We doing Here

I’ve heard this phrase used by political pundits and in general speaking. When things don’t make sense and the day to day moments are just not fixing problem or worse exacerbating them. “What are we doing here?” is asking what’s the point of this policy or action taken by our politicians. What if we go deeper. What is the point to all of this?

Let’s do the deep work. We’re born into circumstances we have no control over. Some in the ghetto struggle to get food day to day. Others are born into wealth and privilege. Being good or evil can be based on how we react to our situations. That is in turned based on the life experiences. Someone born poor can become an advocate for change in the community or finance their lifestyle through crime until it catches up. The kid born on third base can use their resources to help those in need or hoard money in the never-ending dick measuring contest of the ultra wealthy in the Forbes list. The rest of us are somewhere in the middle.
